      Project Manager Interview

      Nov 20, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Axiom Law (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

The recruiter called and was mostly interested in the learning if my salary was within their range. No specific questions. After a few minutes of chatting, she asked If I can come for an onsite interview. I met with the hiring manager who didn't seem very interested in interviewing me. The body language was very poor and uninviting. Unless I was desperate for a job, I wouldn't want to work for her. I did enjoy meeting the hiring manager's boss. He was very forthcoming and impressive. I never heard back on the interview. I sent several notes to the recruiter but didn't get a timely response. Finally, I heard back after I had already sent multiple follow up notes.

      Interview

I found a job advertisement on a popular job site. I applied for a position and sent an e-mail informing my high motivation to work at Axiom. The next day I received a phone call telling me about the meeting. At the interview, the recruiter asked me about the different aspects of my job to match my candidacy for the current recruiting in Axiom. I highly appreciate this attitude. Unfortunately, due to lack of experience I did not receive a job offer. I hope that after gaining experience I will be able to apply for a job at Axiom again.

      Project Manager Interview

      Dec 22, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Axiom Law in Jul 2017

      Interview

Everything started off well. The recruiter was charismatic and the hiring manager even seemed ok despite the problem with the 1st round interview call. Now the problem with the call: the call was scheduled for 2pm. I waited patiently for the call at this time and the call never came. After waiting for over 5 minutes, I shot a quick note to the recruiter letting her know that I was still waiting and still available for the call. Her response was that the hiring manager had tried to call me but the call was going to voicemail. She gave me a number where I could reach the hiring manager. I called the hiring manager, and she made a comment questioning whether I was calling from somewhere with bad reception given that her calls were going to voicemail. Why on Earth would I be doing an interview from somewhere known to have bad reception? I politely told her that I didn’t have any missed calls from her on my phone and suggested that maybe she was dialing the wrong number. Despite the fact that over 10 minutes had been wasted by then, she brought it up AGAIN later on in the interview about her supposed attempts to reach me, arguing that she had, in fact, dialed the right number. There is absolutely no record of these supposed attempts to call me. After the call, I even wasted time double-checking with my phone provider to make sure that there wasn’t anything wrong with my phone. My phone provider used two different methods to check for inbound calls during that time frame. Nothing. The recruiter ghosted on me and never responded to my thank you note or multiple follow-ups asking about the status of the position. I had even rescheduled a doctor's appointment for this interview. This company failed to show a basic level professionalism and basic respect for candidate’s time.
