I had the opportunity to interview with the “Basic One Stop Shop” team. My interview experience with this company was the most unpleasant of all in my career.
I had an easy tech screen round and was moved to virtual on-site rounds. Next, I had a prep call with the recruiter. I would suggest the applicants to take this information with a grain of salt. On the day of the interview I had rounds/topics outside of what the recruiter mentioned. I was told the interviews would be Front-end focused but, ended up with only leetcode questions.
In one of the rounds, the interviewer didn’t turn on his camera during the entire time. He wasn’t collaborative at all. He gave me the problem and kept quiet throughout.
In the next round, another staff engineer made passive aggressive statements like “you should be knowing this if you are a team lead” and also kept interjecting me a lot during the system design.
On the positive side, I had a good conversation with the Hiring Manager and one other staff engineer.
Overall, it was a massive waste of time interviewing for this “Fintech” company. It appeared that they don’t follow the company values that they highlight in the job description.
