      Analyst Interview

      Nov 20, 2020
      Anonymous employee
      New Delhi
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Bain & Company (New Delhi) in Nov 2020

      Interview

I applied through my college placement body as Bain was visiting our campus as a part of it's campus recruitment drive. First a shortlist was released of around 100-120 students based on the CV. After the shortlist we were supposed to appear for an online test which included basic Data Interpretation and Quantitative Aptitude questions. The test also included certain decision making questions assessing our personality traits. After the test, 45 people were shortlisted for the interviews, prior to which a case workshop was conducted where basics of solving cases and guesstimates were discussed. A guesstimate was asked in the first round of the interview along with basic HR questions. The guesstimate was based on my internship (estimate the market of coffee in India) 20 people were further shortlisted for the next round. A detailed case study was asked in the final round alongwith with more elaborate HR questions (market share of a food manufacturer is dipping, analyse and give recommendations) After both these rounds, results were announced and I was one of the candidates who got the offer. Overall, the interviewers were really supportive and made me comfortable at all times. No one was grilling or creating a stressful environment, instead they were making the interview seem more like a conversation.

      Application

I interviewed at Bain & Company (New Delhi)

      Interview

2 rounds of interviews, one resume focused on brain teasers, and the second with a proper case study. The first one asked me for a guesstimate on the topic I'd briefly mentioned as one of my interests during the introduction, followed by a riddle I believe I'd seen on GFG. The second interview was a very quick resume overview followed by a case study.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Case study was about a firm diversifying their product lineup and entering another market segment, and involved walking through all the necessary factors that one must account for before making any business calls. Included some basic number crunching to estimate potential profits, etc., which were provided by the interviewer

      Interview

Interview process consisted of HR round and technical round beyond which I didnt qualify. The process was smooth, the HR team was responsive and the overall process was easy. The questions were also the usual behavioural fit, guesstimates and a brief case study. Inteview questions and back and forth also depends on what domain you come from and what domain the role sits in.
