the phone screen was over zoom but the recruiter would not turn on their camera. Felt weird and very cold. the next set of interviews was classified as first interviews. each 45 minutes. the first was with a human resource rep who grilled me for almost an hour and asked me alot of questions which seemed valid albeit a little excessive. it was the second interview encompassed in the first round with a manager that made me really uncomfortable. 1st issue - late by almost 5 minutes. At various points in our conversation looking at her phone and reacting to emails she was reading. disrespectful and by now I knew she wasnt taking my candidacy seriously. Also, bain is now providing diversity consulting but when I asked her about bain and their stance on diversity/equity she stumbled and gave me such a patched together response that made me feel she doesnt even know what kind of work bain is doing in diversity. she mentioned trainings but was stumbling and unprepared to answer what these supposed trainings encompassed. this is an employee who has been with bain for at least 7 years. I answered the question for her and said that their multinational presence spoke to the diversified brain trust of consultants coming from different backgrounds and experience. how is it that im not an employee at bain and I can answer that question and a MANAGER cant do the same. she seemed annoyed that i had a better answer than her. also at a different company i interviewed with the manager was able to speak to the many nationalities and languages their consultants represented. nothing like that was expressed by the HR reps or the manager which made me feel like bains efforts in diversity are actually really hollow and its the same white homogenous organization it has always been known to be
