I applied online and was contacted relatively quickly by a recruiter. My initial call was with that recruiter then I zoom calls with 7 additional employees including the hiring manager, the team I would be a part of, and 3 managers that were adjacent to my department. The entire process took about 2 months and at some points, I was having 3 zoom interviews a week. All of the conversations went very well. They were working off of a list of questions that were given to them and were pretty standard "strengths and weaknesses". I was constantly needing to check in with my recruiter to see what was going on and at some points, was shuffled between recruiters.
In the end, I was told that the new CEO (who was appointed in APR 2022), decided to have a hiring freeze, and the position I was applying for was no longer available. They did ask if they could keep my info on file for later in the year if they opened it back up.
I've gone on to interview at a few other companies and believe Ball does not trust their managers to make hiring decisions since 6+ others need to sign off. It is a lot of coordination and a waste of resources to take that much time to hire a good candidate.
