After submitting my application, I was contacted by a recruiter about a week later. She scheduled an hour long in-office interview with herself and the hiring manager for two days later. The interview itself was great - I met with the recruiter for about 20-25 minutes and she asked me broader, more general questions about my interest/experience. Then I met with the hiring manager for another 20 minutes or so and we discussed the role more specifically. The recruiter came back to answer any last minute questions I had. I asked about the timeline for this role and was told something along the lines of "I spoke in the hall w/ hiring manager and she really liked you. We're doing second round interviews next week because we really need to hire someone, and I'm sure you'll be invited back to that. Look for an email from me this weekend or on Monday" (my interview was on Friday). She gave me her card and encouraged me to contact her if I had any questions in the meantime.
Here's where things went really south.
I never heard back that weekend or Monday, so I figured I'd give her some time in case they were still interviewing other candidates for first-rounds. I emailed the next Monday (over a week after my first interview) to express my continuing interest and ask for a quick update. No response. Not from the recruiter, not even from an automatic system saying they decided to move forward with other candidates. I just never heard back. So weird that they would take the time to invite me in for an interview (not even just a phone screen!) and then ghost. Not professional, BaubleBar.
I have no idea how anyone has been hired here given that my experience seems to be the norm. I read reviews here before going in and based on the recruiter's seemingly nice and warm demeanor, I figured I had lucked out and she'd be really responsive. Not so. A simple rejection email would've sufficed, but I guess they don't have the time or courtesy.
