Belk called a month after I applied for the director position Everything went fine and on salary HR said X dollars and it was way off my expectations. I was like no problem..thanks for your phone call. and HR person said wait.. We can work this out.. That was the first red flag for me as usually HR don't negotiate like flea market. Anyway, on on-site interview was scheduled. I was at belk office for 5 hours from morning 9 AM-2 PM. No lunch was provided..Instead I was offered a bottle of water and a bag of pop corn. I still can't believe it.. Belk was more interested in getting information out of me instead of hiring me. I think they never had intention to hire me but they really wanted to bring me onsite and get more information out of me as I tremendously worked on cutting edge technologies and delivered the projects successfully. My advice: Belk is still an old school.. and still has old conservative culture where they feel by giving you job they are doing some special favor. be careful and watch out...
