Started off quite positively before a sharp decline. Met with the recruiter initially before moving onto the hiring manager within a day; both were very positive experiences (friendly and informative) until things got weird. I had my upcoming honeymoon and specified my availability along with a willingness to interview while away if needed. The recruiter scheduled a call (with my permission) with a director the day I was scheduled to depart. The recruiter then reached out the day of specifying that the interviewer had extended their PTO coming off of a long weekend and therefore was unavailable (entirely understandable). Subsequently, the recruiter mentioned rescheduling the interview for while I was away and also requested my exact availability in order to facilitate this. After agreeing to circle back in a few days, the recruiter went completely radio silent while I was away even after reaching out twice. Finally two and a half weeks later, received a generic rejection letter. Somewhere along the lines something changed which again is understandable and somewhat common but to be adamant about coordinating an interview while somebody is on their honeymoon before disappearing is highly inconsiderate and unnecessary. This was a highly avoidable mishap.
