applied via website and received call from recruiter. I was given a phone interview with the manager. Looking at this persons linked in he had 15 certifications and I knew this would come into play and they would be certification heavy in who they were looking for.
Asked the typical basic questions such as what is dns, dhcp and windows pe. Also asked about job history and studies and certifications.
I was told certifications would not be central but I was not offered another interview so I believe they are as I am certified in life and getting the job done. I have hardware certs via dell and ibm, and course training via Microsoft, but not the typical comptia certs. I am willing, but only for specific needs once hired.
I have since emailed and called the recruiter for an update but have not received any call back or acknowledgement, which I find unprofessional and rude. They flaunt a lot of benefits to working their, but apparently respect is not one of them, nor giving someone a chance based on work experience. I do not need A+ paperwork to validate 10 years of doing desktop support. They missed out on a great employee.
