I politely bowed out of the interview process when I was told how disappointed they were that a previous applicant didn’t take the offer as they were not able to meet his salary expectations. Who tells a potential candidate this? So unprofessional. The interviews felt like more of an interrogation and a hunt to find a gap in my knowledge.
