I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Big Lots (New York, NY) in Jan 2016
Interview
A excellent call from a recruiter who was a great employee. After meeting with the DTL I got the impression that the company wasn't sales driven or goal oriented. I'm not sure what's important to them except moving freight since that seemed to be his only concern. I have worked in retail management for over 10 years and have never seen or met anyone in a organization who was so laid back and unconcerned with growing the business.

How would you handle a under performing employee? How would you lead the team? How would you go about hiring employees. Super easy questions that were a complete waste of time
Was not a structured interview. Looked at past history and really just wanted to see if they could get me to start. Asked a lot of general questions, but was more just a conversation and attempt to sell on working for BigLots.
