The interview process was very exciting and rewarding at the same time. I first applied for the eCommerce Ops. role mid September 2019. I then received an email from the recruiter on October 2nd, 2019. The recruiter first emailed me explaining that she would like to set up a phone call to discuss my experience. It went rather fast because I was able to speak to the recruiter the next day after she email me a day prior. The recruiter was very kind and personable. She gave me a detailed description of the role, the overall layout of the department, and also why she loved working with Big Lots as well. We then discussed my experience and future goals and how they would align with Big Lots and the role itself. After the brief phone interview, she then set me up with a day and time to come in interview on site. I interveiwed with the eCommerce Operations director (Potential manager) and the eCommerce Operations Specialist (potential coworker). The Director was very kind and passionate about his job with Big Lots. I felt that it was safe place where I could be myself in the interview. I did alot of research about the company prior and I believe the team appreciated it during the interview. The interview lasted about an hour and half and went by fast! Two days later, I received a phone call from the recruiter and she gave me the good news that I was offered the position. Although everyone was personable and kind, all the individuals I interacted with from Big Lots was very professional and passionate about their role for the company. I am very grateful that I got to experience one the best rewarding interview experiences with such a strong company. Shout out to the amazing Talent Aquistion & Humuan Resources Department at Big Lots! Because of your team, I was able to be myself and be the best version of myself in the interview and it obviously paid off. Thank you!
