I applied online and received an email to schedule the interview online the very next day. Once I arrived the following day, I was told the position had been posted by mistake and the HR position was not available at that location. The store manager was very nice and said he thought about calling me but was told to allow me to come in and ask if I would be interested in a sales position for $10/hr. I'm an experienced HR professional with over 20 years experience. If he hadn't been so nice and apologetic, I probably would have told him that a phone call would have been appreciated so my time had not been wasted. I spent the time preparing for an interview and getting dressed up for nothing and that is disappointing. I read of this same experience in CA and wonder if they do this on purpose. At the very least, they should call and make sure someone is interested in an entirely different position than the one they applied for. That is really HR 101. This left me with a bad feeling for Bloomingdales but the Store Manager was a class act. He was probably advised by HR.
