I applied online and received a phone call a month later to see if I was still interested in the position. I said yes and was invited for an hour long on-site interview with a three person panel which included the hiring manager and two other teams members.
Each panel member took turn asking questions. In total, I was asked about 10 questions either pertaining to the position and my experience or workplace situational behavior. It felt super intimidating at first but the team did an amazing job of making me feel comfortable and making it feel more like a conversation.
After the interview, I received two phone calls from the hiring manager to keep me updated on their process which I very much appreciated. They ended up going with their in-house selection but having the hiring manager call me personally to deliver the news was incredibly thoughtful and softened the blow.
The only negative from my experience (other than not being offered the position) is the lofty standards I now hold other companies to when I participate in other interviews.
