I recently went through CDK Global's interview process and want to share my experience so others can make informed decisions.
The Process:
5 separate interview rounds
Each round lasted approximately 2 hours
Total time investment: 10+ hours over
Technical expectations similar to FAANG companies (medium to hard LeetCode problems, system design rounds)
Major Concerns:
Unrealistic Expectations: They conduct interviews with FAANG-level difficulty - medium to hard LeetCode questions and complex system design rounds - but without the compensation, prestige, or resources of those companies. The interview rigor doesn't match what they're offering.
Poor Communication: Throughout the process, communication was inconsistent and unprofessional. I often had to follow up multiple times for updates on next steps.
No Feedback: After investing 10+ hours across 5 rounds and preparing for FAANG-level technical questions, I received zero constructive feedback. Whether you're moving forward with a candidate or not, basic professional courtesy includes some explanation.
Respect for Candidates' Time: Five 2-hour rounds is excessive for most roles. The process felt disorganized, as if they hadn't properly planned their interview structure before beginning.
Bottom Line:
If you're considering interviewing here, be prepared for a FAANG-style technical gauntlet (LeetCode hard, system design) combined with a lengthy, poorly managed process and little communication or respect for your time. I'd strongly recommend asking upfront about their interview timeline, technical expectations, and decision-making process before committing significant prep time.
