I applied online. I interviewed at CDK Global in Jun 2024
Interview
Interview with recruiter was fine. Next was call with hiring manager and peer Product person. Video call and I was the ONLY person on video. The hiring manager waited 5 minutes for the Product person to join. No intro, no recap of role, team or org within the corp. The peer asked the first question - so I took some control and explained my background as an automotive OEM that does biz with CDK and my exposure to their products. And then started to answer the question. When I was rudely interrupted by the HM who said "just answer the question!". Like we can hang up right now as far as I am concerned. The peer went on with random, non scripted run on questions (although I was not allowed to elaborate my responses) that HR would have a field day in a genuine corp to make interviews equal across all candidates. The peer dropped. The HM asked even more random questions - and peer returned. The interview was supposed to be 60 minutes. I decided in the first 10 minutes this was the most authoritarian team I had ever spoken to in my entire career, and could not care less. The HM asked my questions and rambled on for another 20+ minutes. In the end, I thought who would even WANT to work for this company? I can offer value that you don't even care about. You want YES people to run your train wreck. As evidence by the security breach that has happened and well documented on CNN and other national news. Dear lord, the world now values people and their experiences. Who would want this toxic culture??
