A phone interview with HR, followed by a 30-minute in person interview with department manager and a 30-minute phone interview with department director. Pretty straight forward. All interviews were 1:1. The HR phone screen was pretty detailed; they asked about salary expectations, date I could start, and asked about any upcoming vacations. Because my other interviews were pretty quick I didn't have the chance to negotiate the salary, but they offered at the top of my range so negotiation wasn't needed. The 30 minute interviews were pretty quick; I think my first one may have even been 20-25 because the manager was fitting me in between other meetings. I would have asked HR more questions if I had known my other interviews were going to be so quick (things like cost of parking, training opportunities). I think some interviews may involve a panel; I think once you get to the stage of coming in for an interview, you are just meeting with the department so it's really up to them who they include and how they structure it.
