I applied online. I interviewed at Campaign Monitor (Sydney) in Feb 2018
Interview
This was probably my worst experience with an internal recruiter. She emailed me about a week after I applied saying she is interested in my profile and wanted to speak. I emailed her back immediately (with email tracking) giving her my availability for the week. She opened it a few minutes after I sent the email but didn't bother replying. I emailed her again a day or so later to prompt a response. No reply. She finally replied a week later saying she was out of the office. Sure.
She then booked in a time to chat. The day of the call she asked really broad questions and nothing specific and honestly it sounded like she’s new to the recruitment business. Her discovery skills were poor (sounded like she had made up her mind about my application). Spent less than 15 minutes chatting and said would get back if the hiring manager was interested in my profile. I told my partner the very same day it wasn’t gonna happen due to her lack of interest and engagement over the phone.
Get an email saying that “we have decided that unfortunately your background is not an exact match for what we are looking for at this time.” Really? I wonder why? Maybe if you didn’t waste my time and actually did a better discovery job you might have realised that my background could have actually been a good match for what you were looking for.
To HR, I would suggest looking into how your recruiters are communicating (maybe record calls for quality and assurance) with potential candidates and possibly missing out on some great talent and wasting the company’s time and money.
The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Campaign Monitor (Sydney) in Mar 2018
Interview
The Success team in Sydney and the US are lovely and very talented. However, please be sure to apply for a role that will not be put on hold due to the merger of Campaign Monitor, Emma (US company) and Delivra.
I had gone through 3 interviews - one in the office next to Hyde Park, one on Skype with the director of the US and one in the office again with the AU team and the US team. After the last interview, I was called by the HR manager that, unfortunately, the role I applied for was "put on hold" for now due to the merger of the 3 companies and the US being the new focus of hiring rather than the AU.
The team was lovely about it and were super apologetic, however, I was quite disappointed as I spent 12 hours coming into the office and preparing for all the interviews. I was anticipating a successful outcome as they kept informing me everyone was excited to have talked to me. Only to hear the role was being put on hold due to the merger.
I'm now interviewing with other companies and will not again apply for a company that is undergoing a merger or large re-structure.
