      CSM I Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Carrot Fertility (Des Moines, IA) in Jul 2025

      Interview

An ok interview process that ended on a pretty sour and unprofessional note. I went through 5 interviews over a couple of months. This started in May and ended at the end of July. After two, they indicated they had already found someone, but they were interested to talk more when the next role opened up. After a few weeks / month or so, I hear back and continue with three more interviews. It seemed like more of a team fit interview and no one was very clearly able to define the role and what an average week would look like. You can tell they’re still figuring a lot of things out with this role and it’s “ambiguity” as stated in other reviews. 5 interviews over a couple of months is a massive amount of time and stress to put on someone, especially in this job market. My frustration isn’t so much with that, as it was with the recruiter. Before you even hear back about if you’ve gotten the role or not, she sends an email to “rate your interview process”. It seems like this is something that would naturally come AFTER you’ve heard back, not while you’re waiting. I had to reach out to her again for clarification about if this email, only to receive an automated rejection message. Again, echoing the issues with ambiguity and disorganization. Lastly, each time I received an automated rejection email (after the second and fifth interviews), the recruiter sent an email afterwards stating how they know much of a time commitment these interviews are, decisions are not made lightly, etc…and to please let them know if I’d like to schedule a follow up call to get feedback on the interviews. Each time I said YES and to please let me know how I can arrange that. Each time the recruiter never followed through. The second time, I even stated to the recruiter that she did not follow through on this the first time and that I would really like the opportunity to better understand where I fell short. Especially given how far along in the process I had gotten and how tight this job market is. I was told she would circle back, I acknowledged this and never heard back. For this to happen twice is so unprofessional and disheartening, and again speaks to some underlying organizational issues. I understand the nature of these calls and how they can open companies up to potential trouble, but don’t offer these as constructive feedback for people that genuinely want it, and then completely drop the ball. It put a stain on the interview interview process and made me feel like I ended up dodging an “ambiguous” bullet. If anyone actually cares, there needs to be some accountability here for that kind of behavior, or at least STOP offering this to people. The company’s mission seems really exceptional, but read between the lines of the employee satisfaction and reviews here.
