Applied online and was requested for an interview a couple days later. Had a phone call with the recruiter and the interview center was pretty standard for this role. He asked typical questions but it seemed very clear that they had a very specific candidate in mind (someone with SDR manager experience in a SaaS company) and so I didn’t leave the interview confident that I made it to the next round. He said he would be in touch Friday.. still haven’t heard anything on next steps. I closed the interview asking about his hesitations in moving me forward and was told that my past experience was relevant and could bring value but that there could be hesitation from the hiring manager due to no SaaS leadership experience. Seems like the team didn’t do much research into my overall experience and the interview experience has been poor in light of not hearing back when the recruiter said I would hear back. This reflects poorly on the organization and makes me think twice if I would apply again at the org for any other role. It’s 2022, just be transparent and follow up when you say you will, simple.
