The interview process was long and tedious over the course of a week. It consisted of a phone interview with HR, an interview with VP, a written interview, a panel interview with 2 team members, an impromptu phone interview again to verify my interest, then a final interview with the last decision maker. The process does not need to be this long and extensive. I was interviewing like a full time job while I had to put my own obligations on hold to accommodate them.
Advice to HR: Consider a candidate’s time and stop wasting it. There is no need to have a candidate interview for so many rounds; and if you’re going to ask them to do a written test, it should be towards the end of the process and you should pay them.
