ChargePoint utilized an outside agency to contact me about a contract IT position with them, but I declined it several times because they expected me to set aside 3-4 hours for the interview. They ending up contacting me anyway though, and I responded that I'm interested but I could only budget 30 mins to interview. They agreed and decided to break it up into 3 interviews. However, technical difficulties on their end resulted in only 2 interviews. A few days after the second interview, an HR associate calls me and extends an offer, at which time I indicated I was interested but that I'd like to get at least $1 more per hour. Three weeks go by and I don't hear anything. It turns out, that same HR associate who extended me the offer, abruptly quit shortly afterwards. I know this because, the new department manager called me back after that incident and wanted to know if I was still interested in the position. I reiterated that I was, but I'd still like a whopping $1 more per hour. I get a call back about 20 mins later that the offer still stands but they wouldn't budge on the compensation. I begrudgingly accepted the offer anyway because, it was a predominantly telework position. So, a new HR representative then contacts me the next day or two with the written offer. I accept the offer with the agreed upon start date, submit the necessary new hire paperwork, and at that time asked her about the schedule (days, hours, etc.). Her response was "you'll get the details closer to when you'll start". I followed up with an email indicating I'll need to know the schedule before giving notice to my current employer. She responded that she'd get back to me, but never did.
I'm writing this review about 2 weeks after I was supposed to start; which is about a month since last hearing from HR or anybody from the company.
And, since last week the position has been re-posted on multiple job sites, including LinkedIn. Having seen that, I reached out to the senior recruiter at ChargePoint (who I did speak with around the 3rd week of August 2021), via LinkedIn messenger earlier this week, to find out what's going on with the position, but once again I received no response.
So, if the company goes under or gets bought out, I wouldn’t be surprised.
