I went through 8 rounds of interviews, including 2 take-home cases, over the course of 6 weeks. It felt like ChargePoint was looking for every opportunity to disqualify me from the job instead of looking for reasons to hire me. The first few rounds with the hiring manager, case #1, and a team member were all pretty standard and went by quickly. Then the process started to slow down. It was common to not hear anything back for up to 10 days, and then they would resume the process like nothing happened. I proceeded to have interviews with 4 VPs and the CXO. Really bad vibes from senior leadership. More than one individual joked out: my past employers, other companies that I was interviewing with, people without XYZ experience, etc. Yikes. ChargePoint lowballed my offer (well below average for my experience. base salary and equity only, no bonuses, no 401k match) and refused to negotiate, then asked me to make a decision in 48 hours. I declined and accepted a role with a company that offered me higher compensation and actually made me feel valued as a human being. ChargePoint has great products and is a great name to put on your resume. It seems that they have a lot to figure out in terms of talent acquisition and retention.
