      Compliance Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at City & Guilds in Sep 2019

      Interview

Sent in CV as requested in job advert. Was sent link to take an on-line gaming app called Skyrise City to "understand your natural strengths and preferences in relation to our organisational values". The app involved things like remembering number sequences, bursting balloons, testing my reaction speeds. Heard a few days later that I was told my application "would not be taken further" and "we are unable to give feedback" - which I thought was ironic considering City & Guilds' business is all about providing learning!! At no point did I have a named contact or telephone number to ring - all done automated. Very disappointing process. The Sunrise City app may be suited to millennials but probably not for a lot of people. I thought it was a load of junk - not sure how bursting on-screen balloons relates to “organisational values” or my ability to deal with Ofqual and collect evidence for annual self-assessment!!
