1 hr - Chat with CTO - Straightforward chat about expectations. It was odd to talk to the CTO before anything else, but apparently their recruitment had just undergone a change.
30 min - chat with internal recruiter - Had treated CTO like hiring recruiter and didn't have any questions for this.
1 hr Group Architecture Interview - Gave a product relevant to the company's process and asked to draw out a system design and discuss trade-offs
30 min - Chat with internal recruiter - To prep me for upcoming series of interviews. Very helpful information. Recruiter does their best to help you out without giving away specifics.
Then had a ~5 hour series of interviews (Virtual on-site) with breaks
45 mins - Architectural interview - Told me about a service and asked me to conceptualize it and provide data structures. Receptive to giving a naive solution and then optimizing further from there
30 min - Chat about values - Focus on Clever culture, efforts at diversity, 'Tell me about a time...' questions
30 min - Chat with Product Manager - Focus on how well you've interfaced with Business/Non Engineers and your approach to projects
90 min - Technical Exercise - Asked to build functionality out for an uncommon data structure. Straight forward (I did not finish the functionality due to density of the functions, but I was able to explain how I would finish up the last function to the satisfaction of the interviewer)
30 min - Wrap up with CTO - Chance to ask any last questions or get the company to try to sell themselves to you.
Received an offer. Good tech stack and amazing culture/ethic, but ultimately declined due to regional based salary being not competitive.
