      Customer Support Team Manager Interview

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Clipboard

      Interview

I sent in my CV + Cover letter and the first email I received was a case study, which wants me to review 15 tickets, document any findings in detail and create a PIP for one agent. Only after that case study step (which would take hours if done properly) would I be considered to speak with an actual employee. Sorry guys, but I don't work for free.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Complete a case study designed to showcase your problem-solving skills, leadership approach, and ability to communicate clearly in writing.

      Application

The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Clipboard in Jul 2024

      Interview

This is a con company misleading candidates to get ideas, intellectual resources and coaching techniques without paying. Apply online, get an email with "sweet words" on your skills and experience and the guidance to complete their extensive and dodgy study case and the interview process. Here is an insight into what you can expect during our process: * Case Study (complete this case study and upload it as a pdf) * 30 min interview with one of our managers * 30 min interview with the relevant department head * 30 min interview with our COO Few days after completing the study case you receive an automated email with rejection. They have also advertised the same job description/position with 3 different titles/3 different levels (executive, team lead and team manager)

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Write a document that answers the following questions: ● How would you grade the performance of the individual agents? Why? ● Create a Google sheet and link it to your document. ● Grade tickets individually and add an overall grade for each agent. ● Explain your grading rubric. ● Use a numeric grading scale. ● What problems are you seeing that might be the root cause of any low-quality tickets? (Provide a detailed description of the challenges you’re seeing and provide a solution) ● If you were the manager, which two agents would identify as low performers and why? ● You have a limited amount of time in a week, how would you prioritize your time with these two agents? ● Write personalized feedback to those two agents. (Write personalized emails and link it to your document) ● What would be your plan to improve the performance of those two agents? ● Feel free to include anything else you might have noticed or want to dig into! At Clipboard Health, we expect plans to have numbers/metrics, dates, and specific action items. Plans that do not include metrics and dates are not considered to be quality, valuable plans. Additionally, we commonly see managers trying to use what is sometimes called a “compliment sandwich” when giving feedback (compliment, critique, followed by another compliment). As the blog posts we shared above emphasize, we value direct feedback and encourage you to relish discomfort when sharing it. Be direct, exude clarity, and state your expectations.

      Customer Support Team Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Clipboard (Santa Ana, CA) in Jul 2024

      Interview

This review also applies for the Core Sales, Team Lead role as well, since I also applied for that/had the exact same experience* Out of any job application process I've ever gone through in my 15 year+ career, Clipboard Health's was by far the most frustrating. I was genuinely excited to receive a response and the opportunity to move forward with two roles. Despite never talking to an actual human (which was a huge red flag), I decided it was worth a shot to complete two separate (and very time intensive) case studies to move forward. I completed the case studies in earnest, and felt very confident that my efforts provided what the company was looking for. I spent over 10 hours completing both of the assignments (again, never having spoken to an actual person), and within a day of my submission, I received a heartless auto-rejection as if I just completed a 2-second easy apply application on LinkedIn. This is despite the fact that both roles in reality were a bit of a step down in my career/no more than a lateral move. Clipboard tries to con the applicant into buying their "recruiting philosophy," but have no doubt this is absolutely just a ploy for them to carry out demeaning and predatory hiring tactics. It is bad enough to ask candidates to do hours and hours of free labor, but to do so and never even have the decency to have a recruiter or hiring manager reach out for a screen is just plain unacceptable. After finding some of their leadership's email addresses and questioning this further, I was ghosted by them too, as expected. This company simply put is a just a walking red flag--stay as far away as possible; while they tell you they want you to have "fun" completing the case study, it's no fun doing tons of work for free without even the courtesy of an actual interview.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Had you do a case study, which included review and scoring of 25 ~3-page support tickets (each of which required notes about the ticket), identifying the lowest performing reps, and developing of 2 full PIP plans from scratch for those reps. There were another 3-4 questions on top of this too.
