I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Cognizant in Mar 2022
Interview
I interviewed directly with a hiring manager after being referred in. This was a good experience, and follow-up was prompt and as promised. I was excited about the opportunity.
The HR rep then reached out with an offer and this was a less satisfying experience. I was told a salary figure, and also told there were "benefits" and a "performance bonus" but not given any details about either one. I was then expected to counter the offer without sufficient information.
All in all, I withdrew fairly early in negotiations because the company only seemed willing to marginally increase the salary, which was already too low, and would not budge on PTO, which was ridiculously low. Combined with a benefit package that was not competitive, it just was not an attractive offer.
As a note, I might have continued negotiations if there was an attempt to meet me halfway on PTO (I know they have given 25+ days of PTO to a male colleague of mine, and I am a female and was told "no") and if some of the other benefits were better. I just did not get the sense that my requirements to remain productive and happy in the job mattered to them, or that they were being totally honest with me and really engaging in negotiations.
