      Software Engineer Interview

      Feb 16, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CompanyCam in Jan 2023

      Interview

Three-step process, all taking place via Zoom. The first call was an intro call, the second was a live-coding technical interview, and the third was an interview to see if you're a cultural fit. The technical interview was strange, as there were two engineers watching you code instead of one. I felt very rushed during this interview, and they would backseat me if I allowed even a few seconds of silence.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Just general questions about yourself, your skills, and scenarios on how you would handle a situation.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at CompanyCam (Omaha, NE) in Aug 2022

      Interview

One initial call with someone senior from the company, more so conversational on a technical point of view. Went well, then handed off to a 2nd interview. Technical interview. I completed their prompt, as requested. I walked them through it whenever I could by explaining, but remained relatively silent as I coded (you know, how people usually code and get work done in order to focus). Then they just rejected next day, no feedback. So no idea. It's probably a "cultural" thing, which is usually "code" for so many more questionable things. So probably best we hadn't moved forward anyway.

      Question 1

Typical technical questions along with a prompt processing a data array
