This interview was conducted over teams however I could only hear the interviewer not see them and was asked to turn my camera off so it was a bit awkward to read the interviewer.
Overall this interview felt very rushed and like the interviewer had already made their mind up. This may just have been my interviewer but they were very blunt, would keep cutting in to stop me so they could type my answers, would interrupt me whilst I was trying to explain a STAR response with ‘that’s enough’.
From the initial email I was told there would be a series of competency based questions and to have to STAR responses ready. However only one competency question was asked and the rest were case studies where I had to explain how I would approach and handle this specific situation. So I was very prepared to explain my experience through situations but did not get that opportunity. The first 15 mins was me trying to answer these case studies and the rest of the interview was the job role being explained to me.
I was also asked if I knew what an ‘eviction’ was as the candidate before me did not know and us “young people probably don’t know this stuff”.
Lots of talk about the long hours and how people come in thinking it’s an easy job but it’s not.
I was surprised I got an offer based of this interview but I did decline as the role and interview experience was a not a good sign to me.
