Applied online and received a call in a couple of days. I was asked to complete an assessment test online. The test had five parts Verbal Comprehension, Numeric Reasoning,Verbal Reasoning, Symbolic Reasoning, and Space Visualization. A few days after the test I was scheduled for an interview. I was interviewed by two people from the accounting department. Normal interview questions, "what kind of worker are you?", "why should we hire you?", and "what are your weakness?". The interview took about 30 minutes. I received an email a week later stating that I did not meet the expectations of the job. I believe that my age was the deciding factor. The interviewer stated that this was an entry level position a number of times in the interview and since I am 40 I believe they wanted someone younger. I would have turned down the job anyway. The title "staff accountant" is misleading. After the interview I realized that the job is just data entry and fighting with sales people who intentionally or mistakenly make errors on their sales invoices. I've been around enough salesmen to know I do not what a job where I have to fight them.
