I recently went through the interview process with this company for a Lead QA/Automation role. Initially, I had a screening call where I clearly communicated my expected salary range. After that, the company proceeded with two technical interview rounds, which required significant preparation and time investment from my side. In the third round, which was with the AVP for which I travelled to office for in=person interview by taking some time off from current employer.
Later on multiple follow-ups from recruiter/HR came to know that they are not proceeding with my profile because of salary range.
This experience was quite disappointing because the salary expectation had already been discussed earlier in the process.
If the budget did not align, it would have been more respectful and efficient to address that earlier rather than after multiple interview rounds.
Feedback for improvement: Align salary expectations during the screening stage before proceeding with multiple rounds.
Respect candidates’ time and effort invested in the process.
Maintain professional communication even when there is a mismatch in expectations.
Try for negotiation or keep HR interview round to discuss salary and benefits of company
Overall, the technical discussions in earlier rounds were decent
