For context: I am a 24 y/o Bachelor graduate from Europe, and was interviewed by Coveo whilst awaiting my work permit from within Canada.
First, I met the Sales Talent Acquisition Specialist, Salim Cherkaoui. We discussed the two roles I was interested in, my chances of success and further steps. Salim's full transparency and honesty made me feel valued, understood and excited. We chose to pursue the SDR role for the DACH market, while operating out of Quebec, Canada, since I am fluent in German. Within a week, I received a take-home challenge to prove my SDR abilities by writing a 6-page research report on a 'potential customer' (I was assured the lead I was researching was indeed already a Coveo customer). A week after submitting my challenge, I received word that the team considered my report exceptional, but that it had made an offer to another candidate, who was ahead of me in the process and available to work right away, while I was still waiting for my work permit.
Overall, the process took three weeks and went quite smoothly. I have to say this came down to Salim Cherkaoui's tremendous support, communication and integrity. He kept me up to date when he could and was very responsive to emails and even unplanned calls. Salim was the only Coveo contact I spoke to and I felt in good hands. Now, I am looking forward to continuing talks in the future.
