I sent an application for a Story Editor role and received an email about 3 weeks later requesting a fiction sample for a Narrative Designer position. Not what I applied for but I sent the sample anyway. Over a month later (6+ weeks?) I get another email saying they think I’m a fit for a Freelance Writer position but not a Narrative Designer one. I didn’t apply for either of those. They were clearly disorganized and did not keep up with applications. Despite my irritation, I decided to see about this freelance role as I figured I could use the money (although it’s next to nothing). It’s basically full time work for little pay. I had a phone call with someone whose role was unclear to discuss the position and answer mundane questions. They had me do some ridiculous assessment which was very poorly put together with unclear instructions. It was very time consuming and they sent an email days later saying they thought other candidates were a better fit. Good riddance. This company ghosts you, strings you along, wastes your time, and doesn’t even know what the hell you applied for in the first place. Listen to the reviews and don’t waste your time or sanity trying to work here. If you’re like me and trying to get into the video game industry, this is definitely not the place.
