Phone screening asking me some basic programming questions and my interest in full stack development. After that is an onsite interview at their office in New York where there were some behavioral questions and a simple coding test.
I applied online. I interviewed at CultureIQ (New York, NY) in Aug 2018
Interview
15-20 minute phone call with CTO in which he critiqued my work, didn't really let me speak/ask questions and quizzed me on trivial topics ("who invented x or y technology?"). As said in other reviews, the CTO is pushy and confrontational, which doesn't engender a pleasant first interview. I appreciate blunt interviews but this company really needs to hire a recruiter with social skills for the initial phone screening so candidates can ask them questions to gauge if CultureIQ is worth their time -- it's a two-way street. I felt like my time wasn't valued speaking with this company and will not reach out to them in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your phone interview and we agree interviewing is definitely a two way street. We’re sorry you didn’t have a better experience, we have recently rolled out interview training for our entire team and hope that will enhance the candidate experience moving forward.
