The interview process was very long and during it they were not sure what position they wanted to interview for, each time I interviewed it was slightly changing. I went through 7 different interviews ranging from HR, technical, team, and company culture interviews. The HR interviews were optimistic and spoke of an offer, the technical interviews were either coding or technical questions discussed with the team, and the cultural interview was odd to say the least. I was told the cultural interviews were not done for engineers which makes me think the entire decision was based on the idea that they felt I wasn't a cultural fit for their company and just needed a reason to decline. They stated in almost all interviews I did they look for people with 10+ years experience, those who already are 90 to 100 % proficient in technologies they use. I was told if I was not referred by someone that I would "not be someone they naturally would have brought on". Based on others feedback and from what I heard during the interviews, the heavily promote Kaggle competitions and other sorts of outside work in the field, in which your life 100% revolves around their company, the technology field, and breathing code. There appears to be very little work-life balance at this company.
They couldn't answer questions that asked about how employee advancement and development worked within the company. Or how often, if at all, people moved up in position or salary.
When I emailed back for information regarding why I didn't get an offer, I got nothing in return. I asked for feedback from the team, feedback on what I could improve, and I heard nothing at all.
