New Position - Communication Team Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Deacom (Chesterbrook, PA)

      Interview

This place was pretty embarrassing. To stay clear and save the writer and reader time, I'll document my thoughts in bullets: --I was interviewed by someone in an old white t-shirt, jeans, and stained Converse sneakers. Casual dress code is one thing, but frankly, this was disrespectful for the occasion. It was a Monday morning interview, and it looked like the HR person slept in the same outfit she'd wear to a Sunday Little League game. I dressed more appropriately in 7th grade. --They say "the interviewing process is fast." It's fast in a good way for them I suppose, but un-organized and a huge ask for candidates. It works for them because their candidates are mostly either fresh grads, people shifting careers, or the unemployed ~artist~ that just wants any job. --They waste a lot of time - a lot of staff hours (the CEO and etc should be appalled) and a lot of job seekers' time, energy and talent. The take-home assignment takes 10 hours and is incredibly vague. They say it's purposely vague, but then also say they would have liked it styled differently. As any role outside of technical and etc will understand, product can be subjective; if you don't tell us what you want, you may get a differing style. However, if you tell us the overall style you want, guess what --- you'll get it! Well, you're more likely to. --The IQ test is an IQ test. It's illegal, but I guess it's ok because it's not called an IQ test. Also, the only places I've seen that calls people "Artisans" are sandwich and coffee shops.
