Interviewing was far more intimidating and obnoxious than a company who holds as little value in creativity as Dealer.com does.
Not only was I asked to spend 20+ hours creating 3 different designs, and then slicing them into functional XHTML/CSS with zero compensation to even be considered for an interview, I then had to do another one in under an hour while being watched by multiple people on a projector during my 2nd interview. I was also asked to explain my design thinking while doing it.
Both before and after my experience at Dealer.com, I've worked for high profile startups and design agencies, and none of them compare in ridiculousness to the interview process I experienced at Dealer.com. Including positions that paid more than double what Dealer.com gave me.
