I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deel in May 2023
Interview
A classic interview process. It consists of several calls with HR, the design team lead (including a use case study), and the design director. The company provides fast feedback. One of the interviews in the final stage lasted for 30 minutes. However, the set of questions I was asked was 100% irrelevant to the position of a product designer and seemed more suitable for a product director role. For example, questions like "What would you do if the whole team, including engineers, estimates the complexity of tasks incorrectly and disrupts deadlines?" or "What would you do if this happens again after mistakes have been corrected?" are more applicable to high management positions rather than a designer role. Nevertheless, I answered these questions correctly. Additionally, there was a strange question about willingness to work overtime. If the company's processes are not optimized, it's not something you would want to openly discuss in the initial stages of the interview process.

Q: What would you do if the whole team, including engineers, estimates the complexity of tasks incorrectly and disrupts deadlines? Q: What would you do if you needed to work overtime? Q: What would you do if task requirements unexpectedly changed from the side of stakeholders at the end of the process?
Fast contact. Prepare a good case of study to present to leads and managers and be prepared for questions and follow up. Was nice to receive a follow up of my interview and know better leads and managers
It was pretty average, with a talk to the HR person, then a talk with the Head of design, a case presentation about one of your previous works and a last one for a possible offer.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deel (São Paulo, São Paulo) in Nov 2024
