      Product Designer Interview

      Feb 16, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Tbilisi
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Devexperts (Tbilisi)

      Interview

My interview process consisted of 4 steps: 1. Interview with HR. This part was easy, and we discussed common questions only. They had no behavioral questions. Also, they had a nice presentation about the company. 2. Interview with design leads. This part was mostly about discussing my work experience. I presented some of my projects and described what I did in my previous roles. Also, this step included time for my questions. 3. Test. The test task is seriously more complicated than the average. You have about two days to create mockups for a part of the fintech system, and this includes all the steps, from research to the prototype. The result isn’t supposed to be approximate. It must be realistic, like a real customer can use it tomorrow. If you have another job, I suggest asking them about the task and timing during the second step and arguing. Because I expected something for my free evening time for 2 days, but this appeared to be the task for 2 whole days. 4. Presentation of the test task. Nothing special happened during this step. I described what and why I designed and my work process. The problematic part is tricky questions. If you come from a data-driven or data-informed culture, you may be disappointed because every question about the interface solution has one exact correct answer. I suggest reading the latest publications on Medium, checking solutions in popular apps, and guessing what is the correct answer.

Can we use a disabled state for buttons in the interface?
