Dyson Design Engineer interview questions

I applied online through Dyson's recruitment portal. I was contacted via email by a member of recruitment and asked to provide a short portfolio. After reviewing this I was invited to have an interview at their headquarters in Malmesbury for a different design position than the one I originally applied for. The interview was carried out in two stages, the first with the recruitment team member, which consisted of standard HR questions, such as teamwork experience, why I was leaving my current position and why I wanted to work for Dyson. We also discussed salary expectations and any additional bonuses I would be getting. This part of the interview was quite relaxed and seemed more of an informal discussion, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. The second stage of the interview focused on my technical knowledge and was carried out by two members of the department I was interviewing for. They understood that the experience I currently had didn't align with what I would be doing, but explained to me that training would be available where wanted or required. They were more interested in the work I was currently doing. This was a great opportunity to show yourself as a versatile worker, and I would recommend talking about any personal projects you've undertaken, or any times you've gone beyond what was expected in your current position. For this, I talked about any unusual tasks I had done lately, a project I'm working on to build a small CNC Router, and some programmes I wrote to automate a variety of repetitive processes for my current job. Having things to talk about, and bringing samples to show definitely showed them my passion for engineering, and allowed me to directly demonstrate the skills I thought were suited to the job. I would recommend taking the time to produce some additional documents, other than your CV and Portfolio to talk about (just make sure none of it is confidential as they won't look at it). After discussing my technical experience I was asked to complete a few tasks detailed below. After completing the tasks I was asked if I had any questions. I asked them about training, working with other departments, any current projects they were working on (which they declined to answer due to confidentiality) and progression within Dyson. They were able to give me answers to all of these questions and really sold me on the job. A few days later I received a phone call asking me how I thought the interview went and trying to gauge my interest in the position. After telling them I was interested in the position I was given an offer. I was informed that the contract would be sent to me shortly, and we briefly discussed my salary (which was higher than I had requested) and the benefits I qualified for, as well as the next steps required of me.

Interview will have 2 stage which most more in technical session, creativity and IQ test. After that will have simple question about CAD skill but just test by using piece of paper only. Need much understanding about material properties and application in part or product. Basic knowledge and tolerance error in design stage.
