It started with the standard Resume and CV application. Once I progressed through this stage, I was emailed and invited to complete a video interview within about a 4 day period. The video interview was pre-recorded on their side, so I simply saw a series of videos of employees asking interview questions, and then I would need to respond. You can practice as many times as you like, being given generic interview questions and then having about 30 seconds to collect your thoughts, and then respond and watch over it. Once you feel confident and ready, you can then complete the actual video interview where there is obviously no opportunity to redo or re-watch your response. It takes no longer than 15 minutes as you have a strict time limit for each question. The next stage after the video interview was the Assessment Day i attended at the Dyson office. This consisted of an introduction to the organisation, an individual case study and interview, morning tea, group case study, group presentation and a networking lunch. As my first assessment centre i had ever attended, i was pleasantly surprised at how warm and inviting the Dyson team made it for the candidates. While there was inevitably a strong competitive energy on the day, the Dyson team were extremely professional, welcoming and genuinely interested in learning more about the candidates. Their work culture from what I could observe was very positive and supportive.
