This is an interesting interview process to review because so much of my experience was extremely positive-- up until they stopped all contact. I'm well aware that months of silence isn't all that unusual in the grand scheme of interviewing, but Everfi's silence surprised me because: 1) The initial part of the process was exceptionally timely, organized, and pleasant 2) I was a candidate that they considered worthy of three interviews 3) They gave me an explicit time that I would hear back Now, I'm a professional-- I know that no news is an answer in itself. Still, I think it's professional etiquette to follow up on an interview process, especially with a company you really like and interviewed with three times. I gave three weeks beyond the time I was told I would hear back before I inquired about the status of my application, and never heard back. I've since accepted an offer from another company, but this was one of my greatest interview mysteries- why didn't they just send a rejection (or update e-mail, if they really were "considering" me)? Back to my first point, everyone I spoke with was phenomenal, and I have only great things to say about them. That is why, despite never hearing back, I still have an overall positive view of their company. I received an e-mail from their recruiter, who was lovely, to set up a phone call for an initial phone interview with the Regional Recruiting Lead. He was straightforward, honest, and I imagine a Ron Swanson. He asked why I wanted the job, how my previous experiences would align to the position, and my salary range. He passed me through to the next round, and I received an e-mail that day from a current Schools Manager. We set up a Skype call for just 4 days later. She was warm, inviting, and personable-- it was more of a conversation than an interview and proof that she was extremely good at her job (building relationships with people). She passed me on to the next round, and I Skyped with the West Coast Director about a week later (like I said, this was an efficient process). She was very friendly, put together, and professional. She gave me a fair shot at explaining myself (she essentially asked the same questions) and seemed genuinely interested in my answers. She said I would hear back after the holidays and.... I never did. I sent the inquiry e-mail about a month later and never got a response. *The update is that I finally (over two months later) got a rejection e-mail from "The Everfi Recruiting Team," not the main recruiter I was in touch with. At least they got back to me. Good luck to future candidates and to Everfi!
