Interview
Applied for data analyst intern. I study stats at a accredited university and have experience in large scale data science projects. They prescreened me for an interview with a recruitment person over the phone. Tell me about your academics she said. After explaining all the programing projects in SQL, R, and Python and that i had achieved multiple accolades from the university for programming. She ignored everything I said and asked how my excel skills were. Then asked if i wanted to get pushed on to the next interview round. Very unprofessional and insulting to my undergrad studies. If you want low pay for doing excel than this job is for you.
Casual virtual interview. The guy was very straightforward and described the role in detail. He also mentioned the cons of the job and I appreciated his honesty. The starting salary was very low so it turned out to not be a good fit, but the interview process was positive.
