I sent in a resume from Indeed, and on 6/10/19 I was contacted separately by a third party recruiter for the same position. I had an initial phone screen with the recruiter, who it appears is working on a contract basis with Eightfold. The call went well, and I was told that there would be a follow-up interview with the hiring manager. So far, so good, right?
Not so much. After a week and a half delay, I was recontacted by the recruiter and we set up a call for 6/18. The hiring manager no showed me on the call. After several attempts to reach the recruiter, I was finally able to connect via email. Apparently there was an emergency, and the hiring manager had to bail on our call without any notice. They apologized, and rescheduled the call for 6/21.
Well, this time, not only did the hiring manager no-show me AGAIN, but now the recruiter is ghosting me. No contact, even though I reached out via email (my only means of contact) to let them know that the hiring manager wasted my time again.
Whenever this happens without a trace of feedback, you have to ask, how will you be treated once you get there if they don't even respect your time during the interview process. One time, OK, I can be understanding, but twice, with no follow-up, is just not good.
It's ironic that this company purports to improve the recruiting process with their technology. Maybe they need to apply that technology to their own recruiting. Or maybe just not be rude to candidates.
UPDATE - 7/2/19: OK, so after I wrote this I never heard back from the recruiter. That was Friday 6/21. 3 business days later, I got an email from the recruiter asking me to reschedule again, to either 7/1 or 7/2. I responded to the recruiter, and said I was open both days, as long as I wasn't going to be no-showed a third time. Haven't heard back since, and not really surprised. Once again, no respect for candidates. It's still hilarious, considering their core business is recruiting.
