Interview
I applied for the LP Distributions team. The process starts with a short first round with an Analyst/Associate, and then straight to super day. The interviews are entirely behavioral for the Sales Team. I would recommend having a great answer for why you want to join the PFG specifically, and also why you want to do sales for this team. Everyone is very nice. The super day consisted of 5 30 min interviews. The majority of them are vibe checks and resume walk throughs, but the others were they typical behavioral spam. Because they are such a small group, they really value if you are a right fit for their team/someone they would want to work with rather than how smart you are. Only one offer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why PFG. Why Sales? Strengths & weaknesses. Time you led a team. How do you deal with conflict, tell me about a time you faced conflict in a team. Biggest failure. Favorite classes. Why these interests on your resume. A question on how you would manage a project with a client.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Evercore in Jul 2021
Interview
It was pretty chill and behavioral-focused. It was also included a case interview round, which required a little more time to prepare (around 1 week). Overall, I have enjoyed talking with the people at Evercore.
Phone interview was standard— relatively bland. Standard behavioral questions (tell me about yourself, strengths, weaknesses); interviewer was helpful and very kind. It lasted approximately 30 minutes. Looking through and guide of behavioral questions should prepare you for the interview.
