Company reached out to me cold. Discussed the position with the internal recruiter, hiring manager and two business stakeholders. Completed an assignment and received an offer that I rejected for various reasons, including the apparent toxic work environment, low salary, lack of transparency around certain company policies and their demanding a start date which would not make for a comfortable transition. Although I kept dialogue open with the company after rejecting their offer in case something could be worked out, there was a lack of regard for my transition, and a lack of professionalism (including disturbing communications) regarding my hesitation to join that made me come away with a negative attitude towards the company.
