A phone screen with the recruiter, then hiring manager, followed by in person interviews. Overall, the process took 3 weeks. There seems to be a trend where interviews are frequently scheduled as back to back with one person at a time nowadays. Whoever thinks this is a good way to get the best out of a candidate is out of touch. This style of interviewing is particularly challenging when some of the individuals don't have great interviewing skills. It felt like the interview style was more focused on challenging a candidates claims, like trying to trip them up, rather than really getting to know them. I didn't have a good feeling after the interviews as I think they already had someone in mind, so I guess I was one of the unlucky applicants that was put through the paces just so they could say they interviewed a range of people. Recruiter was professional and personable, the hiring manager never really asked me anything of substance and it was a challenge to try and showcase my skills/experience in the brief pauses offered. If you interview with anyone on the tech (engineering) side and you are not looking for a tech role, be prepared for a dull, dry and somewhat arrogant interview. I think Fandango is a typical tech and entertainment company where things are just allowed to evolve with no real attention paid to setting a clear path for the organization. It relies more on cliques and who you know. Overall, a bizarre experience.

I would apply online and did not get a response. I actually knew someone on the inside who was able to submit my resume directly. I am indebted to my friend. First, I had a phone interview with the VP, who was very nice. Then I had another interview where we chit chatted in person. After that he passed my resume to HR who then interviewed over the phone. After HR, I had a major interview day with the heads of many departments. It was an amazing experience, and I had the opportunity to meet with many people of like mind.
