Interview
A couple of calls (recruiting + hiring manager), an at-home exercise, then an onsite at the San Francisco office (interviews + product demo). Whole process took less than two weeks. Onsite was great, they had arranged for me to meet quite a few employees in both the Construction team and the wider company.

Interview
Multiple calls -- one with recruiter, two with hiring manager -- and an onsite with hiring manager and CEO. Provided a 30-60-90 plan and a sample newsletter.
I was recruited and hired based on my understanding of SEO, content marketing, and reaching a target audience. My skillset and curiosity were prioritized over my work experience.
The people I spoke with gave me the impression that the position I was applying for had an expansive and evolving list of responsibilities -- that I would be able to make an impact on many areas of the growing business beyond what was in the job description.

Interview
It's 100% true! I had the identical experience as the other interview reviewer. I wish I would've read it before I wasted my time and energy. They just want free work and advice. The person who interviewed me using Zoom didn't even show his face to me while I was presenting and that was a red flag. Another red flag, was when the head of marketing didn't even show up to my presentation even though I was told that he would be there. The final red flag was when I asked him how many candidates have done the "exercise" and he said 3 previous to me and none of them were brought in for a face-to-face interview. It's now clear that they were looking for free work and free ideas. Stay away!
I wanted to write to directly say how sorry I am about the negative experience you had during our interview process. It’s fair that you felt frustrated that I didn’t attend your presentation of the exercise we asked you to do. It was a scheduling conflict on my side, but I should have given you the courtesy of rescheduling for another day. We’ve discussed your experience with our team and have already implemented new ways to improve our communication with future candidates. Again, thanks for taking the time to be so open and honest about your experience. Thanks, Ray Mina, Head of Marketing.
