Interview
The HR rep at Five Below was great to work with. I applied for a position back in January 2023, but the listing closed right as I had submitted my application. HR said they would hold on to my info and reach out if another similar position opened up. Sure enough, they actually kept their word and reached out May 2023! I had a phone interview that went well, but ultimately I live too far from their offices and the position was hybrid instead of fully remote. It wasn’t a match, but I would definitely apply for a remote job with them if I see one pop up in the future.

Interview
Phone interview with HR. Started out going pretty well I thought. Then I asked a couple of questions the interviewer could not answer. Each reply was "IF and WHEN you get to talk to the hiring manager you can ask him that question. IF and WHEN ......." so I sensed a change in tone, not sure why. She made sure to tell me if I was to receive or accept any other offers to let her know right away, and she would definitely keep me informed about my application status. It was a short, polite phone call and didn't last long. The very next morning I received an auto reply from Five Below that they are no longer considering my application. No explanation. Auto-generated rejection. So I emailed the HR person I had spoken to day prior and told her I received the rejection and was hoping she would be willing to give me some feedback on their reasoning. NO REPLY. Just totally rude. No explanation or excuse for treating people that way.
