I was invited to a phone interview with this company. Sole purpose of the whole conversation was to tell me about the role, company and the non existing competitors. After asking some questions the interviewer stumbled, especially when I asked about the biggest competitors for the company. The role was within sales for personalised merchandise items. Given my background, Sales and Marketing for personalised gifts, I would have matched the job requirements fully. The interviewers onlz answer was that because thez are producing their own products, they have no competition. In a market where I can get a personalised USB stick from anywhere, customer decision will be on price and not design- in my opinion. The interview lasted 45 Minutes mainlz because of my questions, but the interviewer also asked only about my sales experience- nothing else. Given my background for personalised gifts in online retail, this would have been something an interested talent acquisition specialist would have wanted to know more about. Feeling was mixed but in the end got a rejection as I don't match the job requirements with my experience and qualification. Would not recommend as interview felt like checklist and not really interested in the candidate and background.
